Evolutionary General Meeting - Jan 2013

PLACE: The Full Moon Pub, BS1

CALLED BY: BLC

TYPE: Group Discussion

MINUTES

A meeting was held by the members of BLC as planned in the Full Moon pub.

ITEM DISCUSSED

Events

It was thought that the club had done well attending and supporting events last year.  This year it is proposed to continue to improve the clubs profile by attending others events, and organising a few of our own at a club level

The events below are proposed to be attended by the club with us showing scoots

Italian Car Day – Saturday April 20th

Bristol bike show - TBA

Easter Compton – TBA

Due to time constraints it was not possible to get a decent display together in time for the Classic show at Shepton Mallett on the 16th-17th Feb, but if the weather was good the club could ride down together.

Club Events

The event organised by Andy last year at the Nova Scotia was well received and enjoyed despite the appalling weather.

It was hoped another could be arranged for this year, and the working mens club by Ikea was suggested as a Venue

A BBQ on the downs was proposed, but due to legislation another place would have to be organised

A scooter, bike, hotrod and custom show was suggested to be held at Wraxall on the common land

Rideouts

BLC Rideouts – The rideouts last year were enjoyed, and it was decided that more should be arranged.

BLC rides during monthly meeting – generally these should remain local, perhaps no more than 5 miles.

Longer rideouts would be met with enthusiasm, and it was agreed that rideouts on non BLC meeting days should be organised.  Recommendations were that the route be planned and posted on the website at least a week in advance, and the organiser of the ride to arrange for marshalls on route.  The Nova Scotia was to be put onto the website with a link to google maps.

It was suggested to have rideouts organised on Saturdays as well as Sundays
